History

Originally, Nissan SA was one of the first/few companies in South Africa converting vehicles for the disabled until 1999. Very few other ventures existed to accommodate this increasing demand. However, despite the increasing demand, it was still not enough for profitable bussiness on such a low scale. Over and above, constant customizations was also required with every conversion. Since the primary focus was/is the manufacturing of motor vehicles, this ‘special vehicles’ devision of Nissan SA was closed down in 1999.

 

During that time the industry was depending on several ‘small-business’ ventures for converting vehicles. Fortunately, the Master Trainer/Installer employed by Nissan SA for the ‘Special Vehicles Department’, took over such operations in his private capacity and “Pretoria Easy Drive” was established. Customer databases and bulk stock was then under ownership of “Pretoria Easy Drive”.

 

An ever growing demand in disabled driving solutions called for a change to be made. Consequently, Etienne van Tonder successfully completed his apprenticeship at “Pretoria Easy Drive” and decided to do something about closing the gap.

EZ-Drive CC was formally established in the year 2000 and is in operations ever since. Additionally, “Pretoria Easy Drive” ceased operations in March 2015 and was sold to EZ-Drive CC.
